Artistic Director Daniele Strawmyre has been selected as a nEW Festival Artist in Residence for 2011-2012! Cant premiered on January 19th at Painted Bride Art Center in Philadelphia. Cant explores themes of celebrity, cold capitalism, creativity, and isolation, (those timeless American themes), at the center of a dance trilogy that extrapolates on the world and words of PT Barnum and the rare entertainers he promoted..
Collaborating artists include Kate Watson-Wallace, Hedy Weiland, David Konyck, Gwen Rooker, Mauri Walton, Matthew Ricchini, Nancy Megley, and Andrew Geller.
"The nEW Festival is an artists' residency based in Philadelphia that offers a performance opportunity for choreographers, a community for the exhange of ideas and future artistic alliances, master classes, and a creative co-operative program linking collegiate and professional artists.
